The Summer Festival, June, Sitka

"Three things keep me coming back to Sitka — the place, the people, and the family of musicians that I love making music with.  Together they equal spiritual renewal." Jeffrey Solow, cellist

A land of snow-covered peaks, beautiful islands and spectacular wildlife where, each June, the brilliant artists of the Sitka Summer Music Festival express the human experience through magnificent music.  Performing with passion, commitment and exhilaration they present heroic monuments to the human spirit.  We invite you to share the beauty and power of great chamber music.

The June series will include eight chamber music concerts equal to the finest heard anywhere in the world.  on stage in Sitka
On stage the musicians are framed by a panoramic window, through which audience members have a magnificent view of Sitka Sound and the mountains beyond. Fishing boats glide by as eagles perch on the nearby breakwater or soar magnificently in the sky.  The beautiful music and fabulous scenery give audience members a unique experience and wonderful memories.

The Festival begins the first Friday in June and lasts three weeks with a full calendar of events, including concerts on Tuesday and Friday evenings, and one Saturday evening performance.

Alaska Airlines Autumn Classics, September, Anchorage

The intimate setting of APU's Grant Hall showcases the superb artistry of the Sitka Festival string and keyboard musicians and allows everyone in the audience to experience the immediate emotions and thrills of world class chamber music.

The first weekend of the breathtaking series of six concerts will feature a variety of classical and romantic favorites by Chopin, Dvorak, Haydn and Beethoven - as well as the beloved Dohnanyi Serenade.

The second weekend will be a true string extravaganza.  Each program will feature one of Haydn's divine final quartets, including the last music he ever wrote - two movements of an unfinished quartet, Op. 103.  Each concert will showcase the nearly symphonic intensity of string quintets by Beethoven, Dvorak, and Taneyev.

You can't afford to miss any of these memorable and emotionally rich concerts - the renowned Sitka Festival comes to Anchorage
